When I look at a Christmas Tree, I can’t help being filled with a flood of emotions. Those emotions began as a child, cutting, setting up and dressing the tree with the family. The smell of fresh pine in the air, the glow of the lights in the evening and the growing pile of presents under the tree. Those emotions only compound as I enjoy my own children’s reaction to this special time of year. But I can’t help notice, even though the tree is well watered, the needles begin to fall, almost from the first day. So I ask myself what’s the difference between a Christmas tree and Fruit tree?

While the Christmas tree looks so beautiful on the outside, there is no getting around the fact that it is dead on the inside. There is no amount of decoration, no chemicals added to the water, no removal of or replacement of limbs that is going to change that fact, the tree is dead. While a fruit tree is still connected to its life source, it may lose its leaves and look dead at times, but every spring it grows new leaves and starts to bear succulent tasty fruit. It will do this year-in and year-out as long as it stays connected to its life source.

The reason for my pondering is we are not much different. Many of us dress up the outside with expensive clothes, fancy watches and special hair cuts, at the same time trying to fix the inside from dieing with drugs and surgery. We can learn a lot from a fruit tree, staying connected to our life source allows us to grow and produce year in and year out the most precious fruit, health.

Remember our brain and nerve system are much like the root system to the tree. As long as there is a connection from the brain to the body, the life’s energy will continue to repair and grow a healthy strong body. The spine and nerve system are intimately connected, if the spine is out of it normal alignment it can cause a partial disconnect leaving the body slowly dieing. Correction of spinal misalignments, living a healthy lifestyle and having a positive focus on life, are all necessary actions to live a healthy, fully functioning life.

So, although the flood of emotions are special and will always be. I will never stop remembering how special the fruit tree is to me.
